Six people indicted in connection with the deadly Esparto fireworks warehouse explosion returned to court on Thursday, where several relatives of the seven killed employees tearfully asked the judge

Defendant Tamy Machado, who is not facing murder charges, posted bail before her arraignment.

The explosion last July in Esparto, Calif., killed seven people. Five of the eight arrested, including a former local police officer, have been charged with murder.

A former Northern California sheriff lieutenant and the owner of a fireworks company have been arrested and charged with murder following last year’s horrific explosion at an illegal fireworks factory in Yolo county that killed seven people.

Gary Y. Chan Jr. appeared in Woodland court for the first time on Tuesday.
